As a general rule, each undergraduate chapter elects a female associated with the chapter as the chapter Sweetheart. At Kappa Beta, we choose one woman each year who not only associates with us, but also lives our ideals and upholds our standards. We consider it a tremendous honor and sincerely congratulate and love each Sweetheart of our chapter.

Being chosen for this honor over so many great, deserving women at the University of North Florida is extremely thrilling and gratifying.

Even before transferring to UNF last fall, I wanted to be part of the Greek community. I was so excited to receive a bid, pledge, and become part of the most amazing Sorority and Sisterhood on campus, Zeta Tau Alpha. There I have met and become very close to so many remarkable women that will be an essential part of my life.

Before stepping foot on campus for the first time, I knew all about Sigma Chi. My brother, who is now an alumnus, introduced me to many of his Fraternity brother during his active years. From the very beginning I thought, “I love these guys!” It wasn’t hard to become friends with many of them. Not only were they just fun to be with, but they showed class and were always respectful to other Fraternity men, women, and themselves. These are the kind of people I enjoy being around. I see that the word “Brotherhood” has a special meaning to each of them and understand why my brother has such a passion for this great organization.

I am looking forward to the opportunity of getting to know all of the Sigma Chi brothers even better this year. I hope to make an impact on their lives, as each of them is going to impact mine. This next year will be an experience I will remember and cherish forever. I only hope I am able to represent The Sigma Chi Fraternity with the same class, elegance, and dignity as all the women before me.
